Workshop Overview
The EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM) regulation requires importers to report the embedded greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of selected goods imported from non-EU countries.
Due to its supply-chain-wide implications, CBAM extends its impact beyond the EU, placing additional compliance responsibilities on non-EU manufacturers and their upstream suppliers to generate, manage, and disclose accurate emissions data.

This course provides participants with essential knowledge of GHG emissions and their relevance to CBAM, an overview of key CBAM compliance requirements, and practical guidance on defining production system boundaries for CBAM embedded emissions calculations. Participants will gain practical insights into how emissions are identified, categorized, and reported in line with CBAM expectations.
Workshop Objectives
-
To describe the concept and role of GHG emissions and their quantification in complying with CBAM requirements
-
To identify the relevant CBAM monitoring and reporting obligations for non-EU operators
-
To define appropriate system boundaries for embedded emissions calculations, ensuring full compliance with CBAM requirements
